Extremely rare Fossil Squid from the World Famous site of Holzmaden, Germany.
A very pristine squid Phragmoteuthis conocauda dating to the early Jurassic (Toarcian, 180 million-year-old) from the world famous site of Holzmaden (Southern Germany). The specimen has an extraordinary preservation with arms and a big and beautiful ink sack with some mother of pearl around.
This specimen originates from a private collection and it was exhibited in the Hauff Museum in a special event in 1985 ! It is probably of the best one known. Perfectly prepped.
Size (metric) : 24 cm long (salb is 30 x 16,3 cm).
Condition : No restoration, 100% Natural.
